GPS Drawing workshop, Fox Glacier Primary School, Westland, New Zealand. I developed a teaching plan in consultation with the class’ regular teacher for a multi–session drawing workshop. Over three days, I introduced 12 students aged eight to 12 to the technological and practical basis for using GPS devices as a drawing tool. Precedents from historical and contemporary art practices supported this. A final practical session allowed students to create their own GPS drawings.

Lecturer, Edinburgh College of Art . I taught with Dr Chris Speed to third year landscape architecture students. I prepared and delivered lectures on representation in a wirelessly connected digital world, and developed and taught workshops on digital image processing and video editing.

Committee Member, ASCUS : Art Science Collaborative (voluntary). Joined founding members James Howie and Paul Parrish, while a post–graduate student at the Edinburgh College of Art. I have helped strengthened institutional connections between ECA and Edinburgh University, contributed to long–term planning and a public talks and exhibiton programme.

Architectural Assistant, Woodfield Brady Architects, East Hendred, Oxfordshire, England. I worked for a small architecture practice that specialises in adapting listed buildings in a sensitive yet contemporary manner, as well as undertaking a number of new build commissions. I was involved at all levels of the projects; from initial feasibility studies and design development through to the production of working drawings and detailing.

At Unitec I taught drawing, studio and technical papers to first, second and third year students. I was responsible for developing the course content and structure and delivering the material. Teaching occurred in a number of contexts; from lecturing groups of 35, to small group and individual student tutorials, to teaching software in computing labs. In 2006, the programme leader and I co-initiated a lunchtime lecture series featuring guest speakers from outside the school. For this series I was responsible for organizing speakers and the design and printing of promotional posters.

I worked as a technician for the Printmaking department, offering workshops, maintaining equipment and ordering supplies.

I worked at Cheshire Architects for just over a year. In my time there I was involved in all facets of the practice from presentation design, producing working drawings, computer visualizations in 2D and 3D software, model-making, updating and expanding their website and designing and assembling furniture for the office.

In this role I was responsible for the development of a 12–week studio brief and the tuition of 16 students. As part of the brief I organized video screenings and a gallery visit as well as inviting guest critics to presentations.

Editor, modos 2004 : flotsam and jetsam.
modos is the final year student publication at the University of Auckland School of Architecture. It was printed in an edition of 400 copies and is approximately 100 full colour pages with an accompanying cd–rom. I was asked to co-edit the publication in my final year of study. My roles included the development of the thematic, writing, graphic design, fundraising of $12 000 to cover printing costs, liaison with advertisers and printers.
